![]() I also have some pixels joined to indicate fingers. There are a couple of exceptions – I have a thicker line around the heel of the foot on the leg that is up, to help show where the leg ends and the foot begins. To do this, you can either erase parts of your sketch, or trace over the sketch in another colour to create the lines. You will be able to change other things later (like thinning down parts of the arms/legs or body), but if you’re not happy with the pose, it’ll be a big pain to change that XDĪlright, with the sketch done, you can refine the lines to get your line art. Time to check that you’re happy with the overall base look. I also removed part of the circle on the head (where it was going into the face area) and added an ear. Here I’ve also added a couple of things, notably, the shoulders and neck. Hopefully a simple step – remove the stick figure and you should be left with your body sketch. Most of the pieces I draw for the body are just cylinders – some are tapered towards the top or bottom, such as the lower leg, tapers inwards towards the ankle. But in this case I’ve only done the two, splitting it at the waist. Sometimes I split the body into 3 parts, chest, middle and hips. It’s probably easier to draw them in a different colour to the stick figure, so you can differentiate each piece properly. Now we can begin drawing shapes around the skeleton. You could round off the chin, draw a different jaw shape, whichever you like. I’ve chosen your very typical anime jaw-line. I also wanted the pose to be off-balance, as though she were between a jump and a run.ĭraw in the jaw-line. I wanted one of the arms to be up, as though she was holding a strap on a backpack. The stick figure should show the overall pose you are looking to achieve. You can even change the size of the circle if you think the head is too big. If the arms/legs/body are too short/long, don’t be afraid to change it now. I indicate the hands and feet with oval-type shapes.Ĭheck that the proportions are as you want them. Then, I add sticks for the legs and arms. At the bottom of the spine, I add lines to indicate the hips. I usually draw a line for the shoulders in, then draw a curving line for the spine. It will help in determining the proportions you want to achieve. If you find drawing bodies difficult, try using a stick figure to begin with, as a basic skeleton. It doesn’t have to be a perfect circle, I just scribble the rough shape of one ^^ This will be the placement for the head. Hopefully I can show the workings of a few bases in this tutorial, but I’m going to start with a larger anime-styled base.įirst of all, I draw a circle. If any keywords or ideas come to mind, write them down, or sketch the basic idea out.įor me, I’ve chosen: Girl, anime, jump, schoolbag. Usually I have a doll or project in mind, so that generally narrows it down a lot. So before I start to draw a base, I think about the type of base I want to make. Bases come in all shapes, sizes and styles.

![]() At this point it can be stored in tanks, or what Highview call CRYObatteries. Nitrogen comprises 78% of air content, and the gas liquefies at -196☌ (-320☏). This leaves a greater concentration of nitrogen gas, which is then passed through a refrigeration unit and cooled down to a temperature at which the gas becomes liquid. The surplus electricity generated by renewable energy sources will be used to compress air to the point where its carbon dioxide content and water vapour separates out. The new LAES plant to be built by Highview Power takes a big step towards decreasing the UK's carbon emissions. This could mean that waste thermal energy from industrial applications, peak plants (usually gas-powered) and LNG regasification plants could also be channelled to achieve greater efficiencies. The thermodynamic cycle of a LAES plant can also interface with other thermal processes situated in close proximity. It is not, however, a prerequisite, since the system is self-contained and can be located anywhere. This reduces the heat and electricity lost during transmission. ![]() Its efficiency is further increased if the plant is located close to its energy source. In order to increase its efficiency, the Highview Power system can harness excess heat that would normally be vented during the cryogenic compression process. Compressing air until it is liquid, as in the proposed LAES or cryogenic battery, can provide energy efficiencies of between 25% and 70%. CAES requires a large underground cavern to store a high volume of compressed air, and is typically only half as efficient (about 40%) in producing electricity as PHS. PHS is relatively (up to 80%) efficient, but requires a lot of water storage space and has a significant environmental footprint. ![]() Stored power can be discharged to meet peaks in demand from power plants, and is currently available using the pumped hydro storage system (PHS) or the compressed air energy storage system (CAES). These arise out of changes in the requirements of consumers, power plants or the national grid. Once at high pressure and high temperature, the air is expanded in a gas turbine to produce electricity.Electricity is stored in bulk mainly to accommodate fluctuations in supply and demand. To recover the electricity, the liquid air is passed through a series of exchangers, first with the fluid of the “cold store” for its evaporation and later with the “heat store” to return to a temperature around 400 ✬. Once in a liquid state, the air is stored in tanks until it is time to recover the energy. To extract the heat, another fluid is used, which is also stored in a tank for later use, known as the “cold store”. Then, in the liquefaction process, the air is cooled down to a temperature around -160 ✬. Due to the compression, the air is heated up to 400 ✬ and that heat is carried through an exchanger and stored in molten salt tanks for later use. The process begins with the compression of atmospheric air. To recover the energy, it is followed in a reverse process, heating until the air evaporates and finally decompressing it in a turbine to generate electricity. LAES technology (Liquid Air Energy Storage), stores energy by compressing and cooling air to a liquid state, allowing large amounts of air (and therefore energy) to be stored in a small space. ![]() ProtonVPN’s built-in Kill Switch feature is a plan B to maintain your privacy in case you experience internet interruption that disconnects you from the VPN server. In fact, the VPN’s DNS leak protection feature is permanently “ON.” Always-On Kill Switch When preparing this ProtonVPN review, we ran some tests, including a DNS leak test, and found that you can trust ProtonVPN to secure your DNS queries. That way, no one monitors your online activities. But, ProtonVPN protects DNS queries by routing them through ProtonVPN’s encrypted tunnel, instead of third-party DNS providers. The DNS then translates the domain names into IP addresses for your device, which allows spies to read your DNS queries and detect your activities. When browsing through a website, your browser sends domain name system (DNS) requests to find the requested web page. You can even sign up using an anonymous ProtonMail email account. Proton holds only a little of your information to further protect your data-no personal ID required for sign-up. However, using ProtonVPN blocks your IP address, so all they will see is the IP address of your chosen server. Hackers, advertisers and government agencies can track your online activities through your IP address. Its primary features are anonymous browsing, DNS protection, split tunneling and a kill switch. ProtonVPN combines several features to protect your online privacy and security. Express VPN is the best VPN for breaking through China’s great firewall. Then, we won’t recommend ProtonVPN to users traveling to a country with internet restrictions, such asChina, since ProtonVPN cannot bypass internet firewalls. Plus, you can access ProtonVPN servers in only three countries and connect to one device at a time. Also, ProtonVPN’S free plan is in no way comparable to its paid plans, as you won’t get the best speed or gain access to security features such as the ad-blocker and P2P/BitTorrent support. Such available resources will, at best, answer common questions, so you’ll need to submit a ticket, hoping to receive a prompt response. ProtonVPN lacks a live chat function that allows you to troubleshoot issues immediately, so you’ll need to rely on the company’s online knowledge base. And since ProtonVPN is based in Switzerland, Swiss privacy laws will protect your internet activity. The VPN is also layered with multiple security measures that ensure your identity stays hidden even when enabling access to your favorite content.Īlso, ProtonVPN’s open source apps are reliable, as they are subject to public auditing. Its paid plan includes bonus privacy tools, including the VPN accelerator that enhances your speed by 400%. ProtonVPN boasts of a free plan that doesn’t limit the amount of monthly data you can use. However, it lacks features such as a dedicated IP address, smart DNS connection and 24/7 customer support, which most VPN services offer. Also, so you won’t sacrifice privacy and anonymity for speed and performance, ProtonVPN offers unique features such as a VPN accelerator and an opportunity to create multiple profiles for different uses. ![]() ProtonVPN promotes your online privacy by adhering to a zero-log policy, so it won’t log user data.
